Retreat Description
Who am I?
That is a deep question that has been pondered by great philosophers for millennia. Over time mankind has been able to unlock some of the characteristics that make up who we are.
For Catholic Christians it begins with an understanding of the profound relationship we are given through our baptism as beloved sons and daughters of God the Father.
Our Father in heaven created each of us with different temperaments, different geniuses, different personalities, and different love languages. Learning more about these aspects of ourselves can help us to better understand and appreciate how we are created.
Who are You?
Once we know things about ourselves, we can begin to draw a better picture of our spouse as well. How does my spouse’s temperament, genius, personality, and love language mix with mine? Why is it they do the things they do?
Who are We?
What is the Sacrament of Marriage? What do we as man and woman bring to the marriage covenant? How can our differences actually make us stronger? These are some of the topics we will be covering during this married couples retreat. We have found in our marriage that the more we learned about each other, the more we began to appreciate each other. Our focus changed from trying to change our spouse into who we want them to be and to appreciating our spouse for who he or she is. How God created them to be!
